Abbot’s Butcher Closes Series A Funding | 2021-10-25

COSTA MESA, CALIF. – Plant-based meat start-up Abbot’s Butcher has closed a Series A funding round led by Melitas Ventures. New investors Owen Wilson and Woody and Laura Harrelson joined the round alongside existing investors Unovis and SOSV. The amount raised was not disclosed.

Founded in 2017, Abbot’s Butcher produces ground beef, chorizo ​​and ground chicken alternatives formulated with pea protein, vegetables, herbs, spices, extra virgin olive oil and vinegars. The products are free from soy, canola, gums, natural and artificial flavors and synthetic chemicals. Products are available in more than 800 retail and food service outlets nationwide.
