Auglaize County Business Receives Grant

AUGLAIZE COUNTY – The third round of the Ohio Meat Processing Grant will benefit KTF Protein Solutions in Auglaize County. Stuart Kuck of KTF Protein Solutions said the grant will be used to purchase a packaging machine that will help get turkey products to customers faster.

The grants are administered by the Ohio Department of Development in conjunction with the Ohio Department of Agriculture. Each company will receive a grant of up to $250,000, with half of the funds disbursed before projects begin and the other half awarded after companies demonstrate initial funds have been spent on eligible costs.

This program provides money to livestock and poultry producers in Ohio so they can improve processing efficiency, expand or build facilities at existing sites, assist with training and certification and improve harvesting services.

This is the third round of awards given out under Ohio’s meat processing grant, and it will help businesses in 11 counties. Including the first two rounds, 128 grants were awarded to Ohio meat processors in 59 of Ohio’s 88 counties, totaling nearly $28 million.

KTF Protein Solutions is located at 12130 Ohio Route 20, St. Marys.
